ILAH BURTON OLIVERI
1922-2007
Ilah B. Oliveri, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior around noon on the 21st of August 2007.. She was born Ilah Venida Burton on October 25th, 1922 in Ashville, North Carolina. Her parents were Charles Burton and Ruby Owen Zettell. During her youth she lived in Ohio, Tennessee, and Illinois. Known to her family as Nana, Ilah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be forever missed by her family “always.”
In 1984, she was preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Ollic, Charleston, South Carolina and in 2003 by her loving husband, Joseph Francis Oliveri, Bronx, New York. They were married for 57 years. Together they lived in South Carolina, Florida, and Texas. Ilah spent her final years living with her youngest daughter and her family in Jacksonville, Florida.
She is survived by three daughters: Rhonda Sistare and husband Jimmy, Augusta Georgia; Sharman Spence and husband Tom, Burns Flat, Oklahoma; and Joanne Singleton and husband Henry, Jacksonville, Florida. She is survived by six grandchildren: Lisa Sistare-Harkins, Joseph Sistare, Tiffany Singleton, Trey Singleton, Heather Spence, and Christopher Spence; and by two great grandchildren: Michael Sistare and Taylor Sistare.
The family held a private service on 25 August and her ashes will later be interred with her husband in the National Cemetery, Beaufort, South Carolina.
